(Press release from North-South Shootout)
Tour-type Modified entry blanks for the 22nd Annual North-South Shootout are now available online at CarawaySpeedway.com and NorthSouthShootout.com. The prestigious event is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, November 8 and 9, 2024, at Caraway Speedway. Joining the Modifieds will be Supermodifieds, 602 Modifieds, Pro Late Models, Caraway’s Challenge Series, and Vintage racers.
“We are excited to have the entries posted for this year’s event,” said promoter Darren Hackett. “We hope to get early entries to further build the excitement for what we already know will be a great event for teams and fans.”
The official entry form includes event and purse information, as well as complete rules.
With a payout that includes $10,000 to win and $1,300 to start, the race will attract some of the best in Modified racing. An early entry bonus of $200 will go to any teams that register with their entry fee by October 18, 2024. Other posted awards, such as the “Longest Tow,” are also included.
Additional support is being sought to increase the purse through lap sponsorship.
“It has been an honor for DAH Motorsports to continue the legacy of Charles Kepley with the North-South Shootout,” added Hackett. “This year, we are further honoring his vision by bringing back the supers.”
The Supermodifieds were part of the North-South Shootout under C&C Racing Promotions in 2007 and 2008. They will make their triumphant return to the event in 2024, it will mark the first-ever appearance by Supers at Caraway Speedway.
Hackett and his team, along with Chad Kepley, son of the late Charles Kepley, are working hard to celebrate the lore of the North-South Shootout.
“We acknowledge that the schedule for some of the Northern teams is grueling,” said Dale Wolbrink of Red Helm Communications, who has joined Hackett and his team in promoting the event in 2024, “but we hope to build on the traditions of the Shootout to once again attract a large contingent of teams and fans from New England, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.”
Wolbrink was one of the original members of the team that Kepley and C&C Racing Promotions assembled in 2003.
Regular updates on the event, including activities, contingency programs, and team registrations, will be available online by following Caraway Speedway and the North-South Shootout on social media.
