THOMPSON – And six months later, the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series was back where their season was originally supposed to open in April.
The Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series had originally been scheduled to make the division’s Thompson Speedway debut with the Constantine Paving & Sealing 75 on April 6 as part of the track’s Icebreaker weekend.
Weather made sure that didn’t happen in April. Saturday, at the Sunoco World Series, the division was back on track at the historic .625-mile oval.
In the first competitive laps at the track for the division this weekend it was Jake Johnson, Woody Pitkat and Matt Swanson winning their respective heat races.
Jon McKennedy chased Johnson to the line in second in the first 10-lap heat race with George Bessette Jr. finishing third.
It was Matt Hirschman finishing second to Pitkat in the second heat race with Stephen Kopcik coming in third.
In the final heat race Patrick Emerling followed Swanson to the checkered flag in second with Joey Cipriano finishing third.
