Monaco Modified Series On As Scheduled At Thompson, NASCAR Modified Tour Event Moved To April 5

The Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series presented by Better Built Basements is on track for Saturday with the Propane Plus Heating & Cooling 75 at Thompson Speedway for the division’s 2025 season opener.

Track operators announced Thursday that the Saturday portion of the 51st Icebreaker weekend at Thompson is on as scheduled, along with Friday’s practice day.

But with a forecast calling for rain most of the day Sunday, track operators will postptone the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event to Saturday April 5.

Published schedules for Friday March 28 and Saturday March 29 remain as announced.

A release from track operators read: “Sunday’s postponement comes on the continued unfavorable forecast calling for cold temperatures and rain. The cooler temps bring challenging track drying conditions in any sort of timely fashion if the forecasted rain falls. This forced officials to take advantage of next weekend’s rain-date for the March 30th portion of the Icebreaker.”

The NASCAR Modified Tour Icebreaker 150 will go green on Saturday, April 5 along with the originally scheduled season opener for the Late Models, Street Stocks, SK Light Modifieds and Thompson Sunoco Modifieds. An updated schedule for Saturday April 5 will will be released in the near future.

“This is obviously not how we wanted to start our season,” said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “We’re glad the forecast grew better for Friday and Saturday, but Sunday has taken the brunt of this uncertain weather pattern. Both Tom (Mayberry) and I are excited to get things started on Saturday before making a grand finale to the Icebreaker next weekend with the Whelen Modified Tour.”
