Broken Bond: Longtime Speedbowl Track Welder Dan Meyer Opens Up About Losing Role At The Track 

It’s become sort of a rite of passage when it comes to understanding that it’s the start of short track racing season in Southern New England. The sun is out more, the temperatures start to rise, the trees are budding and there’s drama flaring up at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl. 

And Thursday marked the day when Speedbowl drama ran wild on social media. 

So what happened? A few weeks after being told by track management that he would continue in his role as track welder, longtime Speedbowl welder Dan Meyer found out to Thursday that he actually won’t be back at the track in 2025. 

We were able to talk exclusively Thursday afternoon with Dan Meyer and get his take on what went down.
