On June 28, 2024 Modified racing veteran was disqualified from a Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series victory at Seekonk Speedway due to the use of an illegal motor.
Now it looks like questions concerning running an illegal motor are once again dogging the Sunapee, N.H. driver.
Track officials at Monadnock Speedway confiscated Robie’s motor Saturday following his victory in the 604 Modified feature at the Winchester, N.H. bullring.
According to sources close to the track, six motors from participants were measured for cubic inches following the 604 Modified division feature on Saturday at Monadnock. Five of the motors came back with the same number and Robie’s motor tested higher than the other five motors examined.
Multiple sources confirmed that Robie’s motor will be tested on a dyno by an independent engine builder to determine it’s legality.
Robie’s win Saturday was his fourth in the last five races at the track and in six races overall this season at Monadnock. Monadnock officials are expected to announce any possible penalties involving the motor on Tuesday.
Robie scored victory in the $20,000 to win Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series Open Wheel Wednesday event at Seekonk Speedway on June 27, 2024. The next day he was disqualified from the victory for declaring he was running a 604 crate motor which was found to have component changes that did not allow it to be identified as a 604 crate motor.
Robie has not competed with the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series since the disqualification in June 2024. Robie has made three starts on the NASCAR Modified Tour in 2025.
