Stafford Speedway SK Modified division regular and part-time Tour Type Modified driver Mike Christopher Jr. is ready to go trucking next month.
RaceDayCT has learned exclusively that Christopher, of Wolcott, will make his NASCAR National Series debut competing in the Craftsman Truck Series Team EJP 175 on Sept. 20 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Christopher will drive a Halmar Friesen Racing entry in the event with backing from USNEPower and Mohawk Northeast.
Christopher said he could not comment on the opportunity until the Halmar Friesen Racing team makes an official announcement, which is expected next week.
Christopher has competed in the SK Modified division regularly at Stafford Speedway since 2015. The 26-year old Christopher has 20 career SK Modified wins at Stafford, including three this season. Christopher has six career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour starts with one victory (Jennerstown Speedway, May 28, 2022). He has also made 13 career starts with the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series with four top-five finishes.
Christopher will also enter the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Mohegan Sun 100 scheduled for Sept. 20 at NHMS. Christopher will run for a family owned team in the Modified Tour event at NHMS.
Christopher is the nephew of the late short track racing legend Ted Christopher.
