  1. While I am not thrilled about the early start time, I will be there and leave the house by 7 to hopefully walk in as they drop the rag. Why couldn’t cup practice and Q be early like the old days? This is the best race of the weekend.

  2. Bill Realist says

Really ideal for me. I live less than an hour from the track. I will be home by lunch and have a full day ahead of me. It is also a plus not having to sit through the truck series race and hope I get to see the full race before it gets dark.

  3. I would rather it be at 9:15 am then have to wait around until after Cup qualifying and hope the race ends before sunset. TV is probably not going to allow Cup qualifying to be earlier in the morning ever again and the Truck race start times are always at the mercy of whatever other sports FS1 has on that day.

  4. We are going this year, next year maybe not. most of us come from CT and MA. we sold our Sunday tickets. We bought Saturday tickets in advance not knowing start time.( won’t do that again!!!!!.) but it will be cool to see MC Jr. And Patrick in 2 good trucks.we are going up on Friday and staying in NH that way we do’nt have to leave our house at 5:00 am to get there. I’M SORRY ,BUT THAT IS JUST PLAIN DISRESPECTFUL TO THE MODIEDS WHO PUT THE BEST SHOW ON AT THAT RACETRACK!!

  5. thank the cup teams people.

Thanks to Denny and MJ the entire nascar world has to be run around the teams and their abilities to pinch pennies.

Hopefully having another hour or so of light next will let it be at a more normal time.

  6. As much as I love the Modifieds, I don’t get to see much dirt racing, and the Friday night show is prety cool.

  7. If they would install lights that would solve this time restriction issue.
They need to do the same in Dover as I live in Delaware.
I will watch on Flo having breakfast at home.
It should be a great race with a star studded field.

    • JG,
They can’t install lights. Original track owner Bob Bahre entered into an agreement with the local town that essentially ensured lights would never be installed at the facility. When SMI purchased the track in late 2007 they looked to find a way out of that agreement, but they have never been able to make that happen.
