
THOMPSON – The Keith Rocco Show in the Sunoco Modified division at Thompson Speedway played for much of the summer months.
With fall in the air, Rocco has kept the show going.
Rocco got by Todd Owen for the lead lead on lap five and never trailed again on the way to victory in the 30-lap Sunoco Modified feature Wednesday at Thompson Speedway.
It was the second consecutive victory for Rocco, of Wallingford, and his fourth in the last five events for the division.
Danny Cates of Chaplin was second and Owen, of Somers, third.
On lap three Owen went by Derek Ramstrom to take over the lead. Rocco followed by Ramstrom to second on lap four. On lap five Rocco used a diving move into turn three to get under Owen and came out of turn four with the lead.
Nickolas Hovey of Chaplin passed Austin Goff for the lead on lap 14 and went on to win the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature.
It was the fifth victory in six starts this season at Thompson for Hovey.
Goff, of Stafford, was second and Meghan Fuller of Auburn, Mass. third.
Rick LeFlesh of Griswold topped the 15-lap Mini Stock feature. Bill Porter of Canterbury was second and Randy Churchill of Waterford was third.
Wade Gelinas of Limington, Maine won the 20-lap Street Stock feature. George Baldwin of Lowell, Mass. was second and Andrew Gillis of Ashland, Mass. was third.
