THOMPSON – Jon McKennedy is making domination the theme of his Sunoco World Series Weekend at Thompson Speedway.

On Friday McKennedy went to the lead early and then went unchallenged at the front the rest of the way to victory in the 50-lap Thompson Outlaw Modified feature.

Saturday that dominating momentum rolled right back onto the track in winged style for the Chelmsford, Mass. driver.

McKennedy put on a master’s class in supremacy when it came to the New England SuperModified Series Saturday at the Sunoco World Series.

McKennedy ended up in another zip code from the competition in rolling to victory in the 40-lap New England.

Even with smoke showing from his car, McKennedy ended up 4.6 seconds ahead of second place Jeffrey Battle at the checkered flag.

McKennedy wasn’t even aware of the possible issue in the closing laps.

“That’s news to me,” McKennedy said. “I didn’t really notice that. That might be something to be worried about.

“Big thanks to all the guys. It’s been a really tough couple of days. Raced last night, got home really late, loaded this up on a flatbed. Running two cars today … we’ve got the [Race of Champions] race. I’m looking forward to that. It’s been an amazing weekend so far. And we won the pole for [the ROC race].”

Battle was second and clinched the series championship. PJ Stergois was third on the track but was later disqualifed, moving Anthony Nocella to third place
