STAFFORD – In 2023 Ryan Waterman used NAPA Spring Sizzler weekend to celebrate his first career Street Stock victory at Stafford Speedway.
Waterman went on to win the division’s championship that season.
The Danielson driver made six starts at the track in 2024 and then missed the entire 2025 season due to injuries sustained in a crash early in the season at Thompson Speedway.
Saturday Waterman returned to Stafford and got himself back to victory lane.
Waterman drove away from the field on a lap 19 restart to win the 20-lap Street Stock feature Saturday at Stafford.
So question is, will Waterman use another Spring Sizzler victory to start a championship hunt at Stafford. Waterman isn’t saying.
“It feels good,” Waterman said. “Maybe we’ll come here, keep coming here, until we don’t have fun.”
It was the eighth career Street Stock victory for Waterman. The previous seven all came in 2023.
Jason Raymond of Somers was second and PJ Evans of Uncasville third.
Chris Buffone passed Chris Meyer for the lead out of turn four on lap 21 and went on to win the 30-lap Late Model feature.
It was the second career Late Model victory for Buffone, of Belchertown, Mass.
Meyer, of North Franklin, was second and Darrell Keane of Enfield third.
Nick Anglace of Seymour topped the first 20-lap SK Light Modified Duel race. Chris Matthews of Stafford was second and Dylan Houghton of Springfield, Mass. third.
Daltin McCarthy of Oxford, Mass. won the second 20-lap SK Light Modified duel feature. Tyler Barry of Griswold was second and Amanda West of Colchester third.
Jason Lafayette of Somers topped the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature.
Jeremy Lavoie of Windsor Locks was second and Norm Root III of Old Saybrook third.
