STAFFORD – Robert Bloxsom III is no stranger to victory lane at Stafford Speedway over the last decade.

Bloxsom came into Wednesday’s King of the Crate SK Modified event at Stafford with six career wins at the track, with the first coming in 2016.

But on a night when the division had one of their special events, it was Bloxsom celebrating a personal accomplishment he found to be as special as winning one of the division’s marquee events.

Bloxsom passed Bob Charland for the lead on lap 13 and then cruised to victory in the 30-lap King of the Crate SK Light Modified feature Wednesday.

It was the fourth career SK Light Modified feature win at Stafford for Bloxsom, of Milford. It was also his second of the season. Bloxsom got his first win of 2026 on May 8.

It marked the first time Bloxsom has had two victories in one season at Stafford. He had Limited Late Model wins in 2016 and 2017 and SK Light Modified wins in 2024 and 2025.

“It’s huge, I definitely love it,” Bloxsom said. “I’ve actually never won two times at Stafford in one year. I’ve got many wins here, but to make this the second one of the year, it’s always the hardest they say, and to get it done on the biggest night of the year, it’s just awesome.”

Tyler Barry of Griswold was second and Bob Charland of Stafford third.

Bloxsom checked out after getting by Charland for the top spot.

“I could tell that I was a little bit faster than him and I was slowly catching him and I just didn’t want to make any mistakes and catch him and I was able to get the move done on him.” Bloxsom said. “So to be able to do that cleanly with a teammate and get by, it was a good race, so congrats to him and it was a lot of fun.”

Barry used a turn three pass on the final lap to get by Charland for second.

“It felt real good to be able to finally get by him,” Barry said. “We were stuck behind him for a couple laps. I was able to find a little bit in the car to be able to get the drive off the corner I needed to get by him. Ultimately, I think he slipped up just a tiny, tiny bit. I was able to capitalize on him. That’s half the passing you can do here. Everybody’s so close that once you make a little, tiny mistake, you can go back three positions. Thankfully, we were able to get into position and not mess it up.”

Said Charland: “We had a great night and the car was fast the whole night. [Crew chief Stash Butova] made a bunch of changes to this car. He’s been with us, I think that’s week four, and he told me he wanted to bring the car to me to drive where I wanted to drive and he did a heck of a job and is doing exactly what we need to do. Plenty fast. Not quite fast enough to be the King of the Crates, but we’ll take it and we’ll work from there.”
