Doug Coby Wins Pole For Whelen Mod Tour TSI Harley-Davidson 125 At Stafford

STAFFORD – On April 24 at Stafford Motor Speedway, reigning NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Doug Coby throttled the field on the way to victory in the NAPA Spring Sizzler 200.

Friday Coby will return to action right where he left off in April, right at the front.

Coby, of Milford, won the pole in qualifying Friday for tonight’s Whelen Modified Tour TSI Harley-Davidson 125 at Stafford.

Coby toured the half-mile oval at Stafford with a fast lap of 18.460 seconds (97.508 mph).

It was the 13th career Whelen Modified Tour pole for Coby and his sixth at Stafford Speedway. It marked Coby’s sixth pole in the last seven Whelen Modified Tour events dating back to last season.

Rowan Pennink of Huntingdon Valley, Pa. was second fastest in qualifying at 18.494 seconds 97.329 mph).

Donny Lia of Jericho, N.Y. will start third after posting a fast lap of 18.502 seconds (97.287 mph).
