Good crowd at the Bowl today (Sunday). It wasn’t “packed”, but I’d say the stands were roughly 80% full. Hats off to Timmy Jordan for a dominant performance in the SK race.
As Doug might say, the Bowl and the MRS refuse to die.
To have so many championship battles within such a small margin was amazing, and it showed on the track, drivers were driving their hearts out, it was awesome to watch. Seeing Mike Joy was cool, but Wow!! the place was packed, cars were pitting Everywhere, the vibe was cool, and the weather was great. Weekends like this make me hate the off season, I want more.. Hats off to all the champions, they earned them today
5k to win the sk race – this purse needs to be the norm for special shows. Great job by the Speedbowl
Steve,
It has been the norm at Stafford for about 11 years or so.
YEA, Once a year for the midsummer 5k event. (The home of the SK modifieds) REALLY
Super Fan,
I was just pointing out to the nice fella that it already has been the norm, which you’ve pointed out once again.
I thought Waterford was 5.5 k to win. I remember being surprised it was more than Stafford’s marque race before you add gamblers bonus which may or may not go to the winner. I was hoping Waterford would run the MRS and SKs on the same day. I would have traveled down there for that show. Good field of cars. Great weather. I am sure it was an awesome day. I think all we have locally is the haunted hundred in two weeks. Hopefully we get some good weather for that one. Is there any racing in New England this weekend? Is Eastern States at Orange county this weekend? Anything else? One race left for Whelen and Tri track. No Limit and Lucas Oil are wrapped up. Race season is ending. Nothing but a long winter to look forward to. And our football teams don’t look that good.
It was $5500 to win. What a great weekend all around. Wasn’t crazy but there was drama in the trucks and street stocks. Sami Anderson needed another lap or so to get that win. And who thought Adam Gray and Paul Verrechio would be driving sk’s at the bowl?
Stafford opens pay $3600 to win not $5000 and they draw twice the fans more than at Waterford for $10 more admission. Plus Waterford pays all the purse where as Stafford relays on contingency sponsors. Plus Stafford has some of the highest food and beer of just about any short track in the U S A
My Christmas wish for Waterford is that they get a new wireless microphone. C’mon guys, that was ridiculous!
