Maybe this tire is an equalizer for the teams. .. as in the big time teams with the larger budgets, that $80K motors that are always fresh, have lots of extra tires to practice on, and have in the pits for race day, have a hired crew chief, a new car, lots a new parts etc, now have to be able drive their car just as well as the guys who have $30k motors, less tires, are their own crew chiefs, have older cars, and don’t always have new parts on their cars.
