On Saturday at Martinsville Speedway NASCAR had some big announcements concerning the Whelen Modified Tour.
NASCAR announced that Whelen Engineering will extend its partnership as entitlement sponsor for the series through the 2029 season. NASCAR also announced increases in races purses and point fund money as part of the new agreement with Whelen. The sanctioning body also announced the 2025 schedule for the Whelen Modified Tour.
Before the announcement Saturday we spoke exclusively with Joey Dennewitz, Managing Director of NASCAR Regional about everything that was announced and more.
Dennewitz even talked about the state of the relationship between NASCAR and Stafford Speedway management and the hope for the Whelen Modified Tour to return to the track in the future.
