
THOMPSON – The chill was in the air for competitors Wednesday at Thompson Speedway, but Austin Beers was hot when it came to practice.
Beers led the way in practice in preparation for Wednesday’s NASCAR Modified Tour Icebreaker 150 at Thompson Speedway.
The race has been twice postponed before Wednesday. The event was originally scheduled for March 30 and then postponed to April 5 before arriving on today’s event.
Beers toured the .625-mile Thompson oval in 18.795 seconds to lead practice.
Chase Dowling, who is running selected events on the series with Tinio Motorsports, was second fastest at 18.841 seconds.
Luke Baldwin was third fastest with a best lap of 18.855 seconds.
Ron Silk (18.891 seconds) was fourth fastest during the session. Teddy Hodgon IV, making his series debut, was fifth on the time charts for practice at 18.941 seconds.
Jon McKennedy, Matt Hirschman, Jake Johnson, Matt Swanson and Craig Lutz rounded out the top-10 in practice respectively.
