Eric Berndt Grabs New London-Waterford Speedbowl SK Modified Blastoff Opener

The chase for a New London-Waterford Speedbowl SK Modified championship began in perfect style Sunday for Eric Berndt. 

The longtime Speedbowl veteran scored victory in the 74-lap SK Modified feature Sunday at Blastoff Weekend at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl. 

It was the 29th career SK Modified victory for Berndt at the Speedbowl, tying him for fifth place with Bob Potter on the division’s all-time win list at the shoreline oval. 

Paul Kusheba of Monroe was second and reigning division champion Anthony Flannery of East Hampton third. 

Devin Deshaies of Oakland, R.I. won the 30-lap Late Model Feature. 

Brody Monahan of Waterford was second and Michael Bennett of Willington third. 

Tyler Chapman of Ellington scored the victory in the 25-lap SK Light Modified feature. 

Kevin Davis of Somers was second and Nickolas Hovey of Chaplin was third. 

Jordan Hadley of Waterford won the 25-lap Street Stock feature. 

Al Stone III of Durham was second and Aaron Plemons of Uncasville third. 

Ray Christian III of Uncasville topped the 25-lap Mini Stock feature. 

Andrew Krzeminiski of Haddam was second and Bill Sylvia of Preston third. 

Tyler Chapman of Mystic won the 25-lap Truck feature. 

Brad Strickland of Uncasville was second and Charles Beal of Ledyard was third.
