STAFFORD – Travis Hydar arrived as a full-time driver in the Limited Late Model division in 2025 with some big credentials.

The Woodbury driver is the all-time winningest driver in the track’s Street Stock division with 30 victories. That win total was bolstered by a division record 11 victories in 2024. Hydar also had a 2022 Street Stock championship.

So it’s fair to say Hydar didn’t sneak into the division quietly.

And despite his rookie status in the Limited Late Model division, it was Hydar making noise in his new ride all season long.

“We’re super stoked,” Hydar said. “Our goal at the beginning of the year was to go for Rookie of the Year and maybe contend for points toward the end of the season. And that’s where we found ourselves about halfway and being able to maintain the point lead for the rest of the season.”

Hydar used a victory in the 20-lap Limited Late Model division season finale Friday to clinch his first championship in the division.

It was Hydar’s fourth victory of his rookie campaign. Hydar came into the final event holding a nearly insurmountable 36 point lead over second place Jeremy Lavoie in the standings.

“Really figuring out what we need to do to the car to make it do what we wanted to do and we’re kind of starting to hit on that,” Hydar said. “We’ve still got a ways to go on it, but just getting this thing dialed in has been the biggest thing.”

Devon Jencik of Canton was second and Rich Hammann of Tolland third.
