A reunion is in order for Ryan Preece when he goes looking for some big open show money this racing season.

Preece announced Wednesday that he will race in the Boehler Racing Enterprises Ole Blue in the three events of the Tri-Track Series this year.

The Tri-Track Series is made up of open Tour Type Modified shows at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H. (May 11), Star Speedway in Epping, N.H. (June 14) and Seekonk (Mass.) Speedway (July 23).

Preece, the reigning NASCAR Modified Tour champion, raced the BRE Ole Blue on the Modified Tour from 2008 to 2010. Preece had his first Modified Tour victory in Ole Blue in 2008 and ended up recording three Tour victories in the car.

“Driving for [BRE] really helped my racing career to take off and the Tri-Track bullrings are just Ole Blue likes,” Preece posted Wednesday morning on Twitter. “Can’t wait.”

  1. As someone who sponsored both Preece and Hirschman in that legendary #3 modified, I am THRILLED to see Ryan and the #3 back together for the 3 races.

  2. First time I saw Lenny Boehler was peaking at the engine of the 3 at Lee. the car was on an open trailer and he was using a flashlight. He was parked next a huge enclosed trailer, big generator and lights. He was throwback before throwback became cool.
