The common joke as it pertains to social media is that if you read it on Facebook it must be true.

Last Monday Ryan Preece of Berlin said talk of him leaving his Whelen Modified Tour Flamingo Motorsports team to drive for Eddie Partridge in 2015 was all just “Facebook rumors”.

Monday rumor became fact when Preece announced that he would leave Flamingo Motorsports to drive for Partridge on the Whelen Modified Tour in 2015.

Preece made the announcement via Facebook and Twitter early Monday afternoon.

Preece won Sunday’s Whelen Modified Tour season ending Sunoco World Series 150 at Thompson Speedway. After the race he said nothing had been finalized concerning any changes for him for 2015.

Preece replaced seven-time series champion Mike Stefanik in the Flamingo Motorsports ride prior to the start of the 2012 season. He finished second in the standings with the team in his first season and then won the series championship last year driving for the Eric Sanderson owned organization.

Preece had two victories this season, winning the final two events of the season, and finished second in the series standings to Doug Coby.

Preece replaces Ron Silk in the Partridge owned ride.

More to come later.

  1. Derek Ramstrom would be a nice fit behind the wheel of the 16

  2. Keith Rocco would look good behind the wheel of the 16

  3. Les Hinckly would be perfect for them

  4. Knuckles Mahoney says

Yup, agree 100% Put Les Hinckley in the 16. He’s looking for a ride. Has the resume for sure. Knows how to set up a car. Always up front on the MRS. Second in wins on the MRS. It’s a no brainer.

  5. Its like musical chairs with these rides. Hinckley would be cool.

  6. Nahhhh stick tc in that baby, he may not be a young gun anymore but give him a car like that and he will still drive the wheels off and put on a show

  7. What, no one thinks Silk would be good in the 16?!

    Neither do I,

Hinkley and Rocco are both intriguing suggestions. Both fantastic wheelmen, both know there way around a modified.

I could see Matt Hirschman in that ride.

  8. Ray Skoglund says

James W Civali wood be a winner right out of the box!
