The heated streak that Ryan Preece ended the 2014 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season on looks to have rolled right with him to a new team.

Making his first start for new team owner Eddie Partridge, Preece won in Sunday’s 125-lap Tour Type Modified feaure at the John Blewett Memorial North-South Shootout at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, N.C.

Matt Hirschman of Northampton, Pa. was second and Ron Silk of Norwalk third. Jason Myers of Walnut Cove, N.C. was fourth and Derek Ramstrom of West Boylston, Mass. sixth.

Preece, of Berlin, won the final two of events of the 2014 Whelen Modified Tour season driving for Flamingo Motorsports. On Oct. 20, one day after the season finale, Preece announced he was leaving the team to join Partridge’s TS Haulers racing organization.

Preece will drive for Partridge full-time on the Whelen Modifed Tour in 2015.

It was the second North-South Shootout victory for Preece, who also won the event in 2012.
