Ryan Preece remained perfect with his new team on Friday night.

Preece had the field covered on the way to victory in the 35-lap Tour Type Modified feature Friday on opening night of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway.

Preece, of Berlin, was making his second start for team owners Ed and Connie Partridge and the TS Haulers race team.

He won for the team in his debut at the North-South Shootout at Caraway Speeday in Sophia, N.C. last November.

Preece bolted to the front from the ninth starting position and easily drove away from second place finisher Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville, N.Y. on the final restart with two laps remaining.

“That’s probably the most pressure I’ve ever had coming into a racetrack,” Preece said. “… This car was awesome. A brand new Troyer car. R&D deal, it’s just a ton of forward bite. It rotates the center. That spec motor is awesome. I can’t thank these guys enough.”

J.R. Bertuccio of Centereach, N.Y. was third in the 15-car field.

  1. Jacob Seelman says

Until……..he wasn’t. DQ-ed in post-race tech. Too light at the scales.

  2. Get used to it TS haulers has been dq’ed plenty of times with different drivers.nothing to Preece but it might be a long year…

  3. Any update if Ron Silk Has a ride for this year?

  4. Seems like the rules are not too clear, spencer Davis was DQed from the Super Late Models also, no one runs lite on purpose when there are scales….

  5. Lauren- Scales are in the infield. Was there last night, disappointing how few modifieds, especially the southern mods. I know some will say the cost, but full field for the ACT races and the there are Late Models from Midwest, West, and Canada. No MRS modifieds? Very disappointing.
