STAFFORD – It’s been streaking season for the Fearn family of late at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Late Model driver Tom Fearn came into Friday night’s event at Stafford Motor Speedway riding a three-race winning streak.

On Friday his niece Alexandra Fearn started following uncle’s lead with a streak of her own.

Alexandra Fearn held off Dan Dembek in a side-by-side battle to the checkered to win the 15-lap DARE Stock feature Friday at Stafford Speedway.

It was the second consecutive victory for Alexandra Fearn, of East Longmeadow, Mass.

Frank L’Etoile of Wethersfield was third.

Dembek, of Hampden, Mass., got under Alexandra Fearn going into turn one on the final lap. The two went side-by-side for the remainder of the final lap, coming off turn four in a seeming dead heat. Alexandra Fearn edged ahead a few feet before the finish line.

“I knew that he was a fast car today,” Alexandrea Fearn said. “I worried a little bit. He really did make it exciting making the move to the inside. I thought that was pretty cool. It’s really fun to race against him and I like being on the outside so that was really awesome to win it on the outside. I’m excited about that.”

Dembek had recovered from an early race spin to contend for victory.

Said Dembek: “I was just trying to drive it through the field.”

Michael Scorzelli of Malta, N.Y. won the 30-lap Late Model feature. Kevin Gambacorta of Ellington was second and Tom Butler of Stafford third.

Glenn Bartkowski of Manchester went to the lead on lap 11 past David Comeau and held on for his first victory of the season in the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature. Comeau was second and Kelsey Rottino of Willimantic third.

Devin O’Connell of Madison won the 20-lap Legends feature.
