Al Stone III Wins New England Racing Fuel Support Performer Of The Week Award

NE Racing Fuel Support Performer Award

On Saturday night at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl, Al Stone III looked on the way to an easy victory on the final lap of the 25-lap Limited Sportsman feature.

But the drama wasn’t over as Stone ended up having to dodge a spinning car in the final corner before clinching his win.

It was far less dramatic of a follow-up victory for Stone this week in voting for the New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week Award.

The field in voting this week got the Stone Cold Stunner from the Durham driver in polling for the award.

Stone garnered 301 of the 798 votes cast this week (37.7 percent).

Payton Henry of Willington, winner of the SK Light Modified feature last week at Stafford Motor Speedway, was a distant second with 202 votes (25.3 percent).

Each week during the 2015 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Stone will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel.

The final voting results are listed below.
