Joey Ferrigno Wins New England Racing Fuel Support Performer Of The Week Award

And in the world of southern New England short track racing, there’s the Joey.

As in, the New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week Award.

If there’s one thing you can seemingly bet the farm on it’s that if Joey Ferrigno gets nominated for the award, he’s going to win it.

And that was the case once again this week.

Ferrigno, coming off his third victory of the season Friday in the SK Light Modified division at Stafford Motor Speedway, won his third New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week Award for 2015.

For the record, Ferrigno was a perfect five-for-five in in nominations last year.

Ferrigno amassed 200 of the 368 votes cast this week (54.3 percent).

Anthony Flannery of East Hampton, who won his first Late Model event of the season Saturday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl, was second in the poll with 72 votes (19.6 percent).

Each week during the 2015 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Ferrigno will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel.
