Friday Ferrigno took back what he felt was taken away from him last week.
Ferrigno, of East Hartford, drove away from the field over the closing laps to win the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature at Stafford Speedway.
D.J. Burnham of East Hartford was second and Tony Membrino Jr. of Plantsville third.
“This thing was great tonight,” Ferrigno said. “We got robbed last week. We put everything we had into [the car]. My car was a little bit free during the heat race, my crew chief Paul French made a phenomenal adjustment and this thing was just on rails.”
A week ago Ferrigno was battling Bob Charland for the lead on lap eight of the division’s feature when contact between the two sent Charland to the infield and Ferrigno nearly into the frontstretch wall. Both fell back in the field after the incident and there was a later incident between the two.
On Friday it was Charland leading and Ferrigno on the outside for lap four restart when Ferrigno went by to take the lead for good.
“I was just hoping he would run me clean,” Ferrigno said. “I tried going by the guy twice last week and both times got spun out. He said he didn’t know I was there and they were racing incidents. So be it. We can go around playing bumper tag for the rest of the year, but that’s just going to cost money and we’re not going to wind up anywhere.
“I just wanted to get by, get out in front and then I don’t have to worry about anything except myself screwing up.”
It was the division leading fourth victory of the season for Ferrigno, who had five wins last year.
“Going into any season you never think you’re going to win that many, but after five last year, you definitely want to at least repeat what you did the year before,” Ferrigno said.
This no talent hack of a driver has stafford in his pocket and somebody needs to do something about it. There is no way his car can be so average all day and all of the sudden be untouchable in the feature. He cant drive and has Illegal parts. What makes it worse is the track and tech staff know but wont do anything about it. They finally had to look at that illegal motor friday but waited around untill nobody was watching and let him go after they found his big cam and big carb, somebody needs to stop him, his bumper happy teammate, and all the officials that let him get away with it. What a joke
You know, I was wondering why Ferrigno’s car was still in tech after all the other features had been run, and almost everyone else had gone home.
Real SKL Fan, where in the world did you get that info from?
