Hayes, of Charlton, Mass., skipped his two practice rounds Friday at Stafford but it hardly slowed him as he ran to his second consecutive victory in the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature at Stafford Motor Speedway.
It was the fourth victory of the season for Hayes, the reigning division champion.
“We had an early morning at the speedway so we decided to skip the two practices and threw what we had at it in the heat race,” Hayes said.
Albert Saunders of Stafford was second and Justin Bren of Monson, Mass. third.
Tom Fearn of East Longmeadow, Mass. drove to his division leading sixth win of the season in the 30-lap Late Model feature.
Wayne Coury Jr. of Shelton was second and Michael Bennett of Stafford third.
Devin O’Connell won for the sixth time this year in the 20-lap Legends feature.
Mikey Flynn of Hampden, Mass. was second and Teddy Hodgon of Danbury third.
