Michael Bennett Wins New England Racing Fuel Support Performer Of The Week Award

NE Racing Fuel Support Performer Award

On Friday Michael Bennett secured one of the most emotionally driven victories seen in a long time at Stafford Motor Speedway.

With his three-year son in a hospital bed after being diagnosed earlier in the week with Leukemia, Bennett showed up to Stafford to “Race for Chace” and he did just that.

Bennett ended his night delivering the winner’s trophy for the 30-lap Late Model feature at Stafford to his son’s bedside.

This week Bennett secured the victory in voting for the New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week Award.

Bennett collected 215 of the 270 votes (79.6 percent). Josh Galvin, who won his first career SK Light Modified feature Saturday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl was second in the polling with 36 votes (13.3 percent).

Each week during the 2015 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Bennett will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel.

The final voting results are listed below.
