Polling Streak: Patrick Emerling Grabs Second Straight Whelen Mod Tour Pole For Bud 150 At Thompson

THOMPSON – Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway, Patrick Emerling celebrated his first career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour pole position.

It took Emerling 63 series starts before getting his first pole. Wednesday the Orchard Park, N.Y. driver wasted no time in getting his second.

Emerling made it consecutive poles in series action by leading the way in qualifying for Wednesday’s Whelen Modified Tour Budweiser 150 at Thompson Speedway.

Emerling toured the .625-mile oval at Thompson Speedway with a fast lap of 18.750 seconds (120.000 mph).

Reigning series champion Doug Coby of Milford will start second after posting a fast lap of 18.814 seconds (119.592). Doug Coby has won both Whelen Modified Tour events at Thompson Speedway this season.

Ted Christopher of Plainville, making his first career start for Our Motorsports, was third fastest in qualifying (18.860 seconds, 119.300).

Donny Lia of Jericho, N.Y. was fourth fastest (18.862 seconds, 119.287 mph) and series part-timer Derek Ramstrom of West Boylston, Mass. was fifth (18.885 seconds, 119.142 mph).
