Rain Forces Friday Cancellation At Stafford Motor Speedway

SMS Logo 2015For the first time during the 2015 season Stafford Motor Speedway was forced Friday to call off an event because of weather.

With rain falling in the morning and a forecast calling for more rain through the day and evening, Stafford Speedway officials made the decision to cancel their scheduled Friday show.

Track officials also announced that the fireworks that were scheduled to be part of the program Friday will now take place on Sept. 18.

Stafford Speedway ran 17 consecutive events this season without a weather cancellation before Friday.

Stafford returns to action next Friday with the running of the Lincoln Tech Back To SKool Blitz, with all kids 14 & under admitted free of charge when they wear a team shirt or uniform to the track that night.

Next Friday night will also see Stafford taking part in the NASCAR Acceleration Nation program where the first 250 kids age 14 & under will receive a free kit that will include school supplies like pens, pencils, and erasers along with an activity booklet.

Comments

  1. Probably the most welcomed rain out in quite some time. 17 straight events was an unbelievable run.

  2. Rocco fans can kiss the national title good bye.

  3. Wasn’t gonna get it anyway when Waterford is the only track getting a full field and not winning every week.
