On Sept. 27 Ryan Preece is scheduled to make his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut driving for car owner Tommy Baldwin Jr. in the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Though the event will mark the second series debut of the month for the Berlin driver and current NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour points leader.

Preece is set to make his NASCAR K&N Pro Series East debut for Hillman Racing in the Sept. UNOH 100 at Richmond International Racing.

Preece said he met with the team, which already fields two K&N Pro Series East cars, last week in North Carolina.

“I want to go there and learn from them and hopefully have a really strong run,” said Preece, the current NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour points leader. “Obviously we’re going there with high hopes. They have really good equipment, so it’s going to be good. I’m just excited to get the opportunity. It’s one of those deals that came out of nowhere.”

Preece has never turned a lap at Richmond International Raceway and will not get a chance to test before the event.

“I’m going there cold turkey,” Preece said. “But I’m ready. A racetrack is a racetrack.”
