STAFFORD – The heat is on of late for reigning Limited Late Model division champion Andrew Hayes.

Hayes, of Charlton, Mass., won for the third consecutive week in the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

It was the fifth victory overall for Hayes. Cliff Saunders of Stafford was second and Robert Bloxsom III of Stratford third.

Hayes went under Saunders for the lead on lap 18 and held on the rest of the way.

“I can’t believe it,” Hayes said. “This car was a rocket ship. Started there in tenth and got to the bottom there on the first lap thank god.”

Daniel Wesson of Monson, Mass. won the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature. Stephen Kopcik of Newtown was second and Aaron Goff of Stafford third.

Alexandra Fearn of East Longmeadow, Mass. scored her third victory of the season in the 15-lap DARE Stock feature.

“I just kept hitting my marks and doing what I was supposed to do,” Fearn said. “It’s really fun racing against these guys in the beginning when we were all close together.”

Zack Robinson of Putnam was second and Frank L’Etoile of Wethersfield third.

Devin O’Connell of Madison got his seventh win in 16 events in the 20-lap Legends feature.

  1. What happened to the point leaders in the sk lite race. Where was the 44?

  2. Steve,
Pretty Tony Membrino Jr. had motor issues before the feature. I know Joey Ferrigno lost a tire after contact with someone. Not sure what happened with D.J. Burnham.

  3. Joe White says

DJ Burnham got together with Nick Salva. Both cars were towed off the track.
