STAFFORD – It will be hard to miss the SK Light Modified of Joey Ferrigno on the racetrack going forward this year at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Ferrigno, of East Hartford, unveiled an eye-opening new pink paint scheme on his No. 87 ride Friday at Stafford

Ferrigno’s hope is the blinding color will bring attention, awareness and help to the plight of Marla Klemovitch, a crew member with his Horsepower Hill Racing team.

Klemovitch was diagnosed recently with biliary duct cancer and pancreatic cancer and has been going through aggressive treatments for the last four months.

Because of the treatment schedule, Marla is unable to work full-time. Marla currently has no insurance and expenses from not only medical treatments but simply life and supporting family are mounting more and more each day.

“Marla’s done a lot for us, she’s part of our crew and we wanted to do something to help here,” Ferrigno said. “I feel real bad for the situation she’s been put in, not being able to work because of her treatment schedule. We just want to make things a little more comfortable for her while she’s fighting for her life. She shouldn’t have to worry about how she’s going to pay rent, she should worry about getting better.”

Ferrigno and his RH2Way Radios sponsored team will donate all of their race winnings at Stafford Motor Speedway for the rest of the season to the campaign to support Marla.

Representatives from D’Addario’s Auto Service of East Hartford, Steve’s Auto Care & Repair of South Windsor, Gallagher Buick-GMC of New Britain and Stevens Duct Installation of Glastonbury have all offered to match whatever donation Ferrigno’s team makes. Ferrigno said he also also enlisted support from R.A.D Auto Machines of Ludlow, Mass. and Brothers Pool of Wallingford.Joey Ferrigno Pink Car 2

Ferrigno is hoping for more support in leading the campaign to help offset the financial burden on Marla so she can focus on getting better. He is hoping fans at the track will see his car and help support his campaign to help Marla.

The easiest way for those looking to make a donation to the campaign is online through a GoFundMe page set up in support.

Fans can also visit Ferrigno at the track to make a donation.
