Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway, 17-year old high school senior Nicole Chambrello of Kensington celebrated her first career victory at the historic half-mile oval.
And the spoils of that victory continue.
Chambrello led the voting this week for the New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week Award.
Chambrello, who won the 15-lap DARE Stock feature Friday at Stafford, garnered 124 of 228 votes (54.4 percent) cast this week in balloting for the award.
Jason Palmer of Berlin, the Late Model winner this past weekend at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl, was second in the voting with 52 votes (22.8 percent).
Each week during the 2015 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.
Chambrello will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel.
