After having to start last in a 35-car field, Berlin’s Ryan Preece saw his run to the front of the K&N Pro Series East UNOH 100 cut short by weather Thursday at Richmond International Raceway.

Preece was 14th in his series debut for the event, which was stopped after 70 laps.

Preece, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour points leader, was forced to start at the rear after rain effected qualifying for the event.

Austin Hill scored his second victory of the season and fifth series win overall in the event. Dillon Bassett was second and Dalton Sargeant third.

The UNOH 100 will air on NBCSN on Thursday, September 17 at 7 p.m.

That sounds pretty impressive. I hope he is able to post in car footage to his YouTube channel. The TV coverage will most likely show none of that charge towards the front. It’s been a long time since one of our Modified boys has moved to the big league. Go Ryan.

  2. Not a Fanboy, NASCAR does not allow the use of personal recording devices or any type of electronics inside Regional or National touring vehicles. Technically by the rule book, they are not allowed in weekly series cars either, however NASCAR seems to leave that up to the discretion of the racetracks.

Ryan finished right around where he practiced all day from what I had seen. I would have liked to see if he could get some more if the race had not been shortened due to rain. Definitely a great first outing for him.

Thanks Dingus, that’s what I thought. You are a fountain of good info.

  4. I have my moments I suppose… hah!
