Ryan Preece To Run K&N Pro Series East Season Finale At Dover

NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour points leader Ryan Preece will attempt to make his second K&N Pro Series East start in the division’s season ending Driver Sober 125 on Oct. 2 at Dover International Speedway.

Preece, of Berlin, will driver for Old Lyme team owner Ted Marsh in a Whelen Engineering sponsored car.

Preece, who is also a regular in the SK Modified divisions at Stafford Motor Speedway and Thompson Speedway and in the Tour Type Modified division at Riverhead (N.Y.) Raceway, made his K&N Pro Series debut on Sept. 10 at Richmond International Raceway.

After being forced to start last (35th) in the event at Richmond because qualifying was rained out, Preece finished 14th in the rain shortened UNOH 100.

After racing at Dover, which is a Friday afternoon event, Preece will be looking for victory in the Whelen Modified Tour ranks in the NAPA Fall Final 150 at Stafford Motor Speedway. Qualifying for the Fall Final 150 is on Saturday Oct. 3.

Preece currenty holds a 1-point lead over Woody Pitkat in the Whelen Modified Tour standings. Three events remain in the Whelen Modified Tour season. The series returns to action at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with the F.W. Webb 100 on Sept. 26. The season closes on Oct. 18 with the Sunoco World Series 150 at Thompson Speedway.
