Saturday the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour returns to action with the running of the New England Cycle Center 161 at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.

Tight bullrings like the Speedbowl can often produce some of the more unexpected results on the Whelen Modified Tour. So could Saturday be the night that a rookie steps up and beats out the veterans?

    Shawn, I am curious, when was the last time a rookie won on the WMT? Was Dale Quarterley considered a rookie when he won at Lime Rock?
