Stafford Speedway Late Model Xtra Mart Xtra D Event Paying Awards of Nearly $9,000

SMS Logo 2015When Stafford Speedway’s Late Model teams take to the track on May 13th for their 50-lap Xtra Mart Xtra D feature, they will be racing for their largest purse of the 2016 season.

The race will feature total posted awards of almost $9,000 with over $7,400 in purse money plus $1,225 in contingency bonuses.

The race winner will take home $1,475 in winnings with a purse of $1,125 plus contingency bonuses of $200 from Xtra Mart, $125 from Mr. Rooter Plumbing, and a $25 gas certificate from New England Racing Fuel, Sunoco Brand.

The race pays a minimum of $125 to start with 10th place taking home $250. The real money lies in the top-5 positions which will all have a $200 bonus from Xtra Mart factored in.

Fifth place pays $400, fourth place pays $450, third place pays $550, and second place pays $750 and with the $200 bonus from Xtra Mart and a $25 gas certificate from New England Racing Fuel for second and third place, the payouts range from $600 for fifth place up to $975 for second place.

Tickets for the Late Model Xtra Mart Xtra D 50 event will go on sale on Monday, May 9th. Tickets are priced at $20.00 for Adult General Admission, $5.00 for Children Ages 6-14 General Admission, and $23.00 for Reserved Seating.

    I think it’s great that they advertise a larger purse for these events. It definitely attracts a few extra cars, but I wish the purse would be spread out over who actually races. I’m guessing there will be 18 cars, maybe 20 if they are lucky. If only 18 cars race, there is over $1200 that isn’t paid out. If that money was spread out among those who did show up to race, it could help out the drivers that race on a weekly basis, especially as it gets more and more expensive.
