Chase Dowling Leads Whelen Modified Tour Bud 150 Practice At Thompson

THOMPSON – Chase Dowling topped the speed charts during NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour practice in preparation for Wednesday’s Budweiser King of Beers 150 at Thompson Speedway.

Dowling, of Roxbury, toured the .625-mile oval with a fast lap of 18.887 seconds.

Reigning series champion Doug Coby of Milford was second during the session at 18.916 seconds.

Woody Pitkat of Stafford was third fastest during the session at 18.985 seconds.

Qualifying for Whelen Modified Tour is scheduled for about 7:10 p.m.

Bobby Santos of Franklin, Mass. and Jimmy Blewett of Howell, N.J. rounded out the top-five respectively.
