On June 24, in his seventh career start at Stafford Motor Speedway, Joe Graf Jr., scored his first SK Light Modified victory at the historic half-mile oval.

Tonight he’ll go looking to get his second Connecticut short track victory this season.

Graf, of Mahwah, N.J., will make his New London-Waterford Speedbowl debut in tonight’s 20-lap SK Light feature for the division.

“I’m really excited,” the 18-year old Graf said. “Me and [crew chief Paul French] tested on Wednesday on some old tires and we ran some Ok times. Putting new tires on it, I feel like we’ll be running the times we need to be running tonight. Paul always brings a fast car to that track. Hopefully we’ll do good tonight.”

Graf will drive the Gino Difilippo Jr. owned No. 76 RH2Way Radios sponsored SK Light for his Speedbowl debut. Graf will also bring associate sponsorship from Alliance Shippers Inc. of Englewood Cliffs, N.J.

“I’m super excited,” said French, a former SK Light Modified division champion at the Speedbowl. “We practiced on Wednesday and we were turning some pretty fast times for having 200-lap old tires on it, to the point where I knew that once we put better rubber on it we were going to be in good shape. So I’m really excited.”
