LOUDON, N.H. – Practice? We talking about practice?

The famous line from former NBA player Allen Iverson’s might be the mantra of the competitors in the Whelen Modified Tour garage this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Practice, as in, something the teams of the Whelen Modified Tour won’t be getting much of on the 1.058-mile oval this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The Whelen Modified Tour’s originally scheduled 10 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. practice was scrapped because of rain Friday morning and rescheduled for 1 p.m. to 1:25 p.m. A little after 10 minutes into that practice, action stopped on the track for more rain falling.

When the action stopped it was Woody Pitkat of Stafford on top of the speed charts with a fast lap of 129.459 mph. Pitkat got eight laps in during the abbreviated session.

Bobby Santos III of Franklin, Mass. was second fastest at 129.164 mph. Rowan Pennink of Huntingdon Valley, Pa. was third fastest at 128.863 mph.

Doug Coby of Milford, the series points leader and winner of the last two Whelen Modified Tour events at NHMS, was fourth fastest at 128.863 mph. Coby ran eight laps. Santos and Pennink each ran 10 laps.
