THOMPSON – Time for thrones to be filled on after another at Thompson Speedway.

Day three of Sunoco World Series will see champions crowned aplenty at Thompson.

The big one will be the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour where Doug Coby and Justin Bonsignore will settle things in the Sunoco World Series 150.

Coby, of Milford, goes into the series season finale holding a 20-point lead over Bonsignore, of Holtsville, N.Y.

Coby is looking to make history in the division. Should he score the championship he would become the first driver since the series’ inception in 1985 to win three consecutive titles. Coby also won a championship in 2012.

Bonsignore is looking for his first series title. Coby needs to finish 16th or better to clinch his fourth title.

Championships will also be decided in the track’s weekly SK Modified and Limited Sportsman divisions Sunday.

Sunday Schedule

  • NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Sunoco World Series 150
  • 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified
  • 20-lap Limited Sportsman
  • 50-lap International SuperModified Association.
