When the green flag falls on this weekend’s NAPA Fall Final Weekend, October 8 & 9, the American Three-Quarter Midget Association will take to the Stafford mini-mile for the very first time. Ted Christopher will be among the drivers taking part in the TQ Midget feature and he will be looking to add yet another division and feature victory to his stellar Stafford Speedway resume.

Christopher is the track’s all-time winningest driver with 125 career feature wins spread across 6 different divisions. Christopher has 103 career wins in the SK Modified division, 12 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour wins, 6 ProStock wins, 2 Valenti Modified Racing Series wins, 1 K&N Pro Series East win, and 1 Pro All-Star Series win. Christopher has shown a knack for winning inaugural events at Stafford, winning the very first VMRS feature back in 2010 and he won the one and only PASS race to be held at Stafford. Christopher has had some experience racing on the Stafford mini-mile, participating in Stafford’s Champions for Charities races with Wild Thing Kart Senior Outlaw karts. Although there is a vast difference between the karts and TQ Midgets, Christopher hopes he can use his experience as an advantage.

“You know the track and you watch the karts and legend cars and the way they race, so that might help a little,” said Christopher. “We’ll see what happens come Saturday.”

Christopher is also no stranger to the world of TQ Racing as he has participated in indoor events across New England.

“The indoor stuff has a lot more grip because you’re dealing with rubber and rubber,” said Christopher. “They build the track with a lot of grip in it and this place never has a lot of grip. I hope the racing will be good. It’s going to come down to whoever hits on the setup and the right gearing is going to be the lucky one and hopefully that will be us.”

With 20 Midgets on the entry list, Christopher knows it will be a tough challenge to add another feature victory with the likes of Matt Janisch, Justin Bonsignore, Joey Payne, and Lou Cicconi all among the entries.

“Matt Janisch goes good, he wins a bunch of outdoor races, and all those guys have a good idea of what they’re doing outdoors so it should be a good race,” said Christopher.
