Weather Shortens Bemers Big Show Card Saturday At Speedbowl After One Race

bemers-big-show-logoWATERFORD – The management of the New London-Waterford Speedbowl fought valiantly Saturday, but it was a fight that Mother Nature ended up winning at day one of the Bemers Big Show.

After running one of 17 scheduled features, rain returned to the track and forced the postponement of the remainder of the track’s schedule for the night.

The Sunday Bemers Big Show card will remain as scheduled, with the addition of the Pro Four Modifieds and Seekonk Trucks.

The other 14 features that we were scheduled to run tonight will be run Oct. 29.

Dave Farrington of Jay, Me. won the 75-lap Granite State Pro Stock Series feature. Barry Gray of Belchertown, Mass. finished fourth and won the division championship.

Geez just call it a season no need to run on the 29th. The super x, x cars and Bandos should have been done in September. What a waste of time . There short on help and Noone in the stands. Shawn M call it a season and shut the gates . It will be turkey derby and speed bowl trying to squeeze in 1 last show. It’s over tomorrow. Let’s start building next year’s cars ……

  5. According to The Speedbowl Facebook page, grandstand tickets purchased for this weekend (Sunday too) can be used for next weeks event. Wristbands purchased today can be used Sunday and next week.

  6. So easy to be a Monday morning quarterback.

  7. “So easy to be a Monday morning quarterback.”

So true! If they called it Friday, and the weather changed, we’d be reading complaints about calling it too early.

  8. I’m sure the grandstand ticket is good after all they didn’t sell any .

  9. Yes, they should’ve called it Friday and wasted a beautiful and sunny Sunday. Next we’ll be hearing people crying that it’s too windy to race.

  10. There are a lot of points battles that the drivers want to decide. Weather for next Saturday looks decent as of now may work out well for them.

    There’s no crying in racing.
