Wild Thing Karts Drives DARE Stock Division At Stafford Speedway

(Press Release from Stafford Motor Speedway)

Wild Thing Karts is the newest partner to join the track’s contingency program for the 2017 season. Wild Thing Karts will provide a bonus of $75 to each DARE Stock feature winner throughout the 2017 season for a total contribution of $1,650. Combined with contingency bonuses from Jeff Ramsey Carpentry and New England Racing Fuel, drivers will be racing for nearly $5,000 in contingency bonuses during the 2017 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season.

Wild Thing Karts is the brainchild of Wade and Sandi Gagner, with 7 divisions of karts racing on Monday nights at Stafford Speedways mini-mile, it is the perfect way to get started in racing and prepare for moving up to Friday night NASCAR competition at Stafford. Wild Thing Karts graduates are currently spread out throughout all five of Stafford’s NASCAR divisions with drivers like Ronnie Williams and Tyler Hines in the SK Modified® division, Paul Arute in the Late Model division, Dan Wesson, David Arute, and Marcello Rufrano in the SK Lights, Bryan Narducci in the Limited Late Model division, and Brandon Michael, George Bessette, Jr., and Travis Hydar in the DARE Stock division. But the supply chain of drivers doesn’t stop there. There are also sons, daughters, grandsons and granddaughters as well as nieces and nephews of racers and crew members who are currently racing in the Wild Thing Kart ranks.

“This contingency really makes sense for us since we have so many graduates racing in the NASCAR ranks at Stafford,” said Wade Gagner, President of Wild Thing Karts. “I’d say we’ve had at least 20 drivers who have graduated to Friday night competition and we have a lot of younger family members just getting their starts in racing with us. It’s also a great way for us to get the word out about Wild Thing Karts and we hope we can pay one of our graduating drivers this season to reward them for a feature victory!”

In addition to Monday nights, there will be 3 Wild Thing Karts feature events on Friday nights during the 2017 season. Wild Thing Karts’ Junior Outlaws will be part of the June 16 program, the Senior Outlaws will be part of the June 30 program, and the Senior Champs division will be part of the July 28 program.

“We’re proud to have three races on the Friday Stafford schedule this season,” said Gagner. “This will be a great showcase for us to give the Friday night NASCAR fans a look at how competitive our kart racing is and what they can expect to see at the track on Monday nights. It’s also a great preparation for our future racers to get acclimated to a Friday night schedule at Stafford for if and when they move up.”

Wild Thing Karts has an open practice at Stafford this Sunday, May 7th and they kick off their 2017 season on the mini-mile on Monday, May 15th. For more information, please visit www.wildthingkarts.com.
