Woody Pitkat is a well- decorated, veteran driver at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. Heis the driver of the No. 6 Sunoco Modified for Stan Mertz and the No. 91CT Late Model for Jeff Hartwell. He currently sits in the fourth position in the Sunoco Modified Division point standings, trailing Ryan Preece by four tallies. Pitkat also is third in the Late Model Division point standings, 26 points behind defending Division Champion, William Wall. Pitkat has placed in the top five four out of five times in the Sunoco Modified Division, but has yet to visit victory lane.

“I have been fortunate enough to finish in the top five for each race except the Throwback race, but hey things happen. We have to hold strong in these last two races,” explained Pitkat.

In the Late Model Division, Pitkat placed in the top five twice so far in 2017. At the Bud “King of Beers” 150 Pitkat was awarded with the win after post-race inspections.

“When I heard about the post-race inspection results, I was shocked, but with this at hand, hopefully this will make it more of an even playing field,” the father of two explained.

Pitkat enjoys racing both cars, especially with the success he has been enjoying. He admits, though, that there is a lot of work in competing in two of the four NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Divisions.

“It’s a little tough racing both cars since they are both different, but I make it work compared to Keith Rocco who I have no clue how he does it racing at all different tracks and renting out two cars to drivers.”

Pitkat later revealed “I like the way Thompson spread out their schedule, giving the drivers enough time to get our cars together and making it more competitive compared to weekly racing, making running two cars a little simpler.”

Keep an eye out for Pitkat at this year’s World Series of Speedway Racing October 13 -15, 2017 as he is sure to be a contender during this final event. For more information, visit thompsonspeedway.com.
