Thompson Speedway Test And Tune Postponed To March 31

The terms Winter Wonderland and motorsports typically don’t work well together.

And for that reason, Thompson Speedway has decided that because of this week’s late winter snow the track will postpone Saturday’s scheduled Test and Tune session to March 31.

On track activity will begin March 31 at 10am and conclude at 4pm. Garage reservations are still open for this event at the Thompson Speedway website, or by calling the office at 860-923-2280.

Camper drop-off for the Icebreaker remains as scheduled on March 31. The 44th Icebreaker will take place April 7-8

Today was a nice day. With the temps i cant imagine that snow was an issue still with the amount of sun that hits the track during the day, but i suppose incould be wrong. Always funny when they cancel on a nice weather day for one reason or another, and reschedule for a day forecasting Rain all day.

Ryan, there was potential for about a foot of snow, the question was where. Long Island got 15″, southern CT got a few inches, northern CT got a couple inches. The storm stayed south just a few miles more than expected. If the storm was north just a bit, Thompson would have been buried in >1 ft of snow.

It was a very tough forecast… all the outlets missed it.
