Ronnie Williams Tops Final Whelen Modified Tour Icebreaker 150 Practice At Thompson

THOMPSON – Ronnie Williams proved ready for Thompson Speedway Saturday in practice for Sunday’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Icebreaker 150.

After putting up the second fastest time in the first practice of the day for the series, the Tolland driver came back to lead the second and final round of practice Saturday at Thompson Speedway.

Williams toured the. .625-mile Thompson Speedway oval in 18.514 seconds during the second practice session.

Qualifying for the Icebreaker 150 will take place Sunday.

Chase Dowling of Roxbury was second during the final practice with a fast lap of 18.650 seconds.

Doug Coby of Milford, looking for his fifth consecutive Whelen Modified Tour championship in 2018 and sixth title overall, was third fastest during the session at 18.742 seconds, matching his ranking from the first practice.

Jon McKennedy of Chelmsford, Mass. and Patrick Emerling of Orchard Park, N.Y. rounded out the top-five during the session respectively.

Rowan Pennink, Justin Bonsignore, Ron Sik, Craig Lutz and Eric Goodale were fifth through tenth respectively for the final practice.

    He practiced for Ryan Preece who was in Texas competing with the XFINITY Series.

  4. Where is Melissa? Don’t see her in the top 31, guess she is is saving her equipment for that big race at NH.
