Granite State Pro Stock Series Season Opener Postponed To May 5

(Press Release from Granite State Pro Stock Series)

The 2018 GSPSS presented by Springfield Buick GMC will have to wait one more day to kick off the 2018 race season.

Claremont Speedway Owner Jim Ambrose and GSPSS president Mike Parks have decided that with the incoming showers and Thunder storms through out the afternoon and evening it just didn’t make sense to make the fans and competitors battle the weather today.

Parks stated “We have a built in rain-date for tomorrow May 5th and the weather looks great so that is what we are going to do”. The race day schedule will be 100% the same as what was in place for Friday, Pit gates for GSPSS (only) Opens at 1:30pm with practice at 4:30 and heats hitting the track promptly at 7:00pm.

  1. NH Mark says

PASS is at Star on Sat nite. Love those conflicts.

  2. Bill Realist says

Monadnock too. The owner of Claremont jim Ambrose once told me that they had a nicer facility than monadnock. I asked if he had ever been there, he said no.

  3. Bill Realist says

Most track promoters in northern New England would do good to visit thunder road on a Thursday night. Or Stafford. Perhaps Albany Saratoga who came back from being left for dead in about a years time.

  4. Bear Ridge is running less than an hour away too. And they probably would have drawn a much bigger crowd than Claremont this week if they were racing on a different night, let alone at the same time. The odd thing is there will likely be a couple GPSS teams that live closer to Star and can surely afford to run with PASS that will haul to Claremont instead due to the “bigger fish in smaller pond” mentality.

  5. I wish you guys would talk more about whats happening in NH. Modified country my foot.
