Wheelers Automotive Qualifying Race Bonus Returning to NAPA SK 5K At Stafford

For the 4th consecutive season John Rufrano and Wheelers Auto Service of Hamden, CT has posted a bonus for the NAPA Auto Parts SK 5K qualifying race winners. For a total of $2,000, the Wheelers Automotive qualifying race bonus will be paid to the top-3 finishers in each SK Modified® qualifying race; $250 for first, $150 for second, and $100 for 3rd. The additional $2,000 bonus boost the total posted awards to $34,425.

“The NAPA Auto Parts SK 5K has become a highlight event of the summer for the SK Modified® teams,” explained John Rufrano, owner of Wheelers Auto Service. “We enjoy posting some extra money for the heat races to raise the competition. Every SK Modified® team wants to win the NAPA Auto Parts SK 5K, as always it will be a great show.”

Rufrano, whose son Marcello Rufrano competes in Stafford’s SK Light Modified division, is also the car owner to SK Modified® point leader Keith Rocco. Rocco, the 2017 Stafford Speedway SK Modified® track champion, started the season on a hot streak winning the first 3 races of the season. Rocco, a driver who seems to have won it all, over the course of his career, has yet to take home a NAPA Auto Parts SK 5K trophy. Rufrano agrees that this is one of those events every team wants to win.

“Keith is the type of driver that wants to win every week, but the NAPA SK 5K is an event he really wants to be in victory lane for” continued Rufrano. “It’s a big race for all these SK Modified® teams. 100 laps and $5,000 to win will get any driver to drive a little harder. The 5th annual NAPA Auto Parts SK 5K is set for Friday, June 29. With $5,000 guaranteed to win and over $30,000 in posted awards, the 100-lap big money race will be an event not to miss. Discount tickets for the NAPA SK 5k are available at participating NAPA Auto Parts stores. Tickets are priced at $30.00 for adult general admission tickets, $5.00 for kids ages 6-14, and kids 5 and under are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Reserved seating is priced at $32.00 for all ages. All ticket prices include 10% CT Admission Tax. Stafford Speedway offers free parking with free overnight parking for self-contained RV’s available. There will also be a barbeque taking place on the midway with some great food available to race fans for only $10.
